With seeding wrapped up and spraying well underway, the job of crop scouting will only intensify until the combines roll. If you want to do a good job of crop scouting, there is a tremendous amount of information to keep in your head every time you walk across a field.
Recognizing these challenges, MPSG staff have created Insect and Disease Scouting Calendars for soybeans, field peas, dry beans and faba beans. These calendars indicate when to scout for specific insect and disease pests throughout the growing season. They also illustrate crop growth stages that correspond with the presence of certain pests. The potential impact of each pest on yield and quality are ranked (high, medium or low), based on expert advice and observations made over the past several years of production.

To accompany our scouting calendars, MPSG has also created insect and disease identification guides for both soybeans and field peas. Have these guides with you so you can rapidly identify major threats to your crop’s success!!
