Switching Up the Plan for 2026 on a Few Unfertilized Acres, Last Minute?

Looking for a new crop option that doesn’t require nitrogen fertilizer?

Do you have a small field that is very clean for weeds, has a pH lower than 7.5 and hasn’t been canola for a few years?

Intrigued by the challenge of producing an emerging protein source for feed and food (that they can make ice cream from) that is Aphanomyces resistant and part of a closed loop system that provides seed and inoculant for purchase and will buy back all of your production?

Planting a small acreage of lupins may be a last minute fit for your farm this spring.

One caution is with very limited registered in-crop herbicide options, Lupins are not a fit for every field and rotation.

Pre-seed herbicide application is essential.
