- Soybeans range from R2 (full bloom) to R3 (beginning pod).
- IDC symptoms have now cleared from the vast majority of fields. A few severely affected field areas remain and have resulted in permanent crop damage.
- The presence of soybean aphids have been noted in a few fields and scouting/assessments of this pest continue. Currently pest levels remain well below control thresholds.
- Some feeding by grasshoppers, blister beetles and other insects have been noted on many fields but defoliation levels remain well below control thresholds.
- In areas that have experienced little rainfall over the past weeks, plants are exhibiting some drought stress symptoms including restricted plant growth, leaf flipping and leaf clamping.
- Field peas range from R2 (bloom) to R3 (flat pod).
- The first round of fungicide applications to prevent the spread of Mycosphaerella (Ascochyta) blight symptoms were completed.
- In fields located in areas that received appreciable rainfall over the last two weeks, Mycosphaerella (Ascochyta) blight symptoms have been found in crop canopies. A second round of preventative fungicide applications are being applied by some growers.
- Monitoring of pea aphids was conducted over last two weeks with a limited number of insecticide applications being warranted.
- Dry beans range from R1 (beginning bloom) to R2 (beginning pod/early pin bean stage).
- Flowering and pod development continue with fungicide applications ongoing as the crop comes into stage.
- Herbicide applications were completed.
