- Soybeans range from late V stages through R1 to early R2.
- IDC is present in many soybean fields at varying levels with fields recently receiving rainfall seeing more severe symptoms or even a return of symptoms depending on soil salinity/carbonate levels and variety tolerance/susceptibility.
- Grasshopper nymphs have been found in headland areas and some below threshold levels of defoliation has been observed.
- The presence of pea aphids have been noted and scouting/assessments of this pest continues.
- Localized hail with reports of stem breakage
- Field peas range from very late V stages to R2 (flowers open at one or more nodes).
- Mycosphaerella (Ascochyta) blight symptoms have not been found in most crop canopies thus far. Not surprising given the recent absence of significant rainfall in most production areas. However, this disease complex can develop and spread rapidly after rainfall events and scouting at regular intervals continues. Preventative fungicide applications have started and are on-going.
- Dry beans range from V3 to V4.
- No flowering noted as of yet but expected soon with the kidneys and crans likely flowering first
- Herbicide applications continue. Crops are now starting to move out of stage for some products.
- Some IDC symptoms have been noticed on some fields
- Faba beans range from R1 to R3 (50% bloom).
- High levels of blister beetle feeding has been noted in some fields. Defoliation levels across some fields has been high enough to warrant insecticide application.
- The presence of pea aphids have been noted and scouting/assessments of this pest continues.
- Pea Leaf weevil larvae emerging from nodules was reported
