Project Description
Nitrogen fertility recommendations for dry beans have not been updated since the early 2000s and nitrogen application rates vary greatly among dry bean farmers in Manitoba. This study will compare five rates of N fertilizer (0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 lbs N/ac) in both pinto and navy beans, and will contribute to 4R nutrient management practices by attempting to identify the agronomic and economic optimum N rate for dry beans in Manitoba.
