MPSG Job Postings: Agronomy Assistants (2021 Summer Positions)

Manitoba Pulse and Soybean Growers (MPSG) is a farmer-owned organization representing growers of pulses and soybeans. MPSG is seeking two qualified seasonal employees, one based in western Manitoba and one based in eastern Manitoba, to assist with field research and crop surveillance during the 2021 crop season. This opportunity is particularly suited to agriculture students eager to work outdoors, travel throughout Manitoba and expand their knowledge of pulse and soybean production practices.

Agronomy Assistants

Agronomy assistants will work primarily with the On-Farm Network to conduct field-scale research trials. Assistants will be responsible for data collection and surveillance of soil condition, pests, crop health indicators and other agronomic variables. In addition to the On-Farm Network responsibilities, Agronomy Assistants will work with Production Specialists to carry out field scouting activities on various farms throughout the province. The Agronomy Assistant positions provide a unique opportunity to become familiar with pulse and soybean production across agro-Manitoba, growing a diversity of agronomic skills and experience.
